Where was the final season of Sex Education filmed?
THE fourth series of Sex Education is finally here and producers have gone all out in a major mix up of filming locations.
Here are the stunning backgrounds used to paint the picture on the Netflix show's final season, which was released on September 21.
Where was the final season of Sex Education filmed?
Although some of the action takes place in the US, Sex Education season 4 was filmed in the UK.
Wales, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Bristol were picked at the five main filming locations to bring the heartwarming show to life.
Wales
With Moordale gone, producers needed to select a new location that could represent the show entering a different era at Cavendish College.
To mark their fresh start, location scouts picked the exterior of a museum building at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff.

Its "abundance of "Concrete and geometric shapes and straight lines" was one of the main selling points, according to producers.
However, interior Cavendish College scenes were filmed in a studio.
Senior art director Christina Tom told Netflix Tudum the team were looking for a "bigger, and open, and brighter, and frankly from a different era" feel.
She added that St Fagans National Museum of History had a "modernist kind of vibe."

Elsewhere in Wales, Adam can be found working on a farm.
The real location is Werngochlyn Farm, found near Abergavenny.
Still a small working farm and livery, the farm also offers self-catering cottages sleeping between four and six guests, converted from old stone farm buildings dotted around the site.
Herefordshire
Otis Milburn and his mum Jean's house is one of the most recognisable locations featured throughout Sex Education, and it can be found in Symonds Yat, Herefordshire.
Fans will now be delighted to hear that they can now get up close and personal as the iconic home has hit the property market.
However, any fans who want to move into The Chalet will have to have deep pockets, as the home has gone on sale for £1.5million.
The gorgeous five-bedroom house in Wye Valley was originally built as a salmon fishing lodge.
Netflix viewers will be familiar with the stunning red panelling on the exterior, and the lush green surroundings, including river views.
What fans may not know is that the house was remodelled with a Norwegian design, which involved installation of a conservatory dining room and a bespoke wooden kitchen.
Gloucestershire
During season 4, Maeve was transferred to Wallace University in the US.
But the American university was actually filmed across the Atlantic at Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire.
Westonbirt School is a co-ed independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged two to 18.
The mansion where lessons take place is surrounded by 210 acres of beautiful parkland grounds.
Westonbirt School shared their proud TV moment of fame on social media.
"Season 4 of Netflix's award-winning series 'Sex Education' dropped on Thursday - and we're so proud that our beautiful school was used in the filming," the school wrote.
Monmouthshire
A staple location throughout Sex Education is the red iron bridge.
This can be found in Monmouth, Monmouthshire.
The Duke of Beaufort Iron Bridge crosses the River Wye, and hosts some significant moments in the show.
When the Ross and Monmouth Railway line opened in 1873, the 300 feet bridge was built to join the two Monmouth railway stations, and opened on May 1, 1874.
The stunning bridge was built by Edward Finch of Chepstow.
Bristol
The University of Bristol's Wills Memorial Building and the School of Chemistry were also featured in the series.
The University library acted as the interior of Wallace University, where Maeve studies.
The colourful glasswork sculpture "The Palm Temple" art installation, created by Bristol-based artist Luke Jerram, is placed outside the School of Chemistry.
The installation can be seen during Cavendish College canteen scenes.
Like Westonbirt School, Bristol University praised their campus for being selected as a filming location.
"How many of these Sex Education filming locations do you recognise? Season 4 of the hit Netflix show airs today and some of the series was filmed right here on campus," the institution wrote on Instagram.
"Our Wills Memorial Library doubles as a key part of the fictional Wallace University in the US, where Maeve is studying."
They added: "While the School of Chemistry is the canteen at Cavendish College, the new school where the gang is trying to fit in following the closure of Moordale. We don’t know about you, but we’re even more excited to watch the final season now!"
Who stars in the final season of Sex Education?
The original cast - Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, and Emma Mackey have all reprised their roles for the final time.
But fans have been left heartbroken after a beloved character died off-screen.
Viewers were in floods of tears and left traumatised as they found out that Maeve Wiley's mum Erin died off-screen from a tragic drug overdose.
Erin, played by Anne-Marie Duff, had lost her battle with addiction after falling unwell in the hospital.
Maeve, who was informed that her mother was fighting for her life in A&E, quickly boarded a flight back to the UK in scenes that were shown at the conclusion of episode three.
Maeve and her brother Sean (Edward Bluemel) were taken to a private room in the hospital when a nurse broke the heartbreaking news to them.
One fan wrote: "I can't watch this anymore!!"
