Born in August 1979, June Shannon came to fame in 2012 on the TLC show, ‘Toddlers & Tiaras.’ Fans of the reality TV series about child pageant stars fell in love with June and her youngest daughter, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. With the nickname Mama June, she seemed destined for fame on small screen. June and Alana were soon the stars of their very own reality TV series, ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,’ which featured more members of the family, including Mama’s three other daughters, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, Jessica ‘Chubbs’ Shannon and Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon. That show was pulled, however, in 2014 after June was accused of rekindling a romance with her ex-boyfriend, registered child sex offender, Mark McDaniel.
Fortunately for June, she found fame again with the WE tv show, ‘Mama June: From Not to Hot,’ which charted her massive 300-pound weight loss transformation, achieved through diet, exercise and gastric sleeve surgery. She faced legal troubles once again in 2019 with boyfriend Geno Doak. In May 2022, it was reported she wed her boyfriend of several months Justin Stroud in Georgia.
