• How do pants sizes work?

  You probably know where you fall on the spectrum of extra small, extra large, etc., but work pants often follow numerical sizes that correlate with your dress size or the measurements of your waist. Many pairs also come in different lengths (called an inseam), and depending on your height, you may have to opt for shorter or longer inseams to best fit your frame. 

  You can measure your waist by wrapping a sewing tape measure around the natural curve of your waist and writing down that number (in inches). Once that’s done, you will place the tape on the inside of your thigh and measure from your groin to your ankle to get your inseam length.
